Monday Means "Emma"

Hello Ladies,

I wish all of you mothers a "Happy Mothers Day!" I hope you have a delightful day. Maybe you will get a little bit of "Emma" reading in. I was such a great read for traveling into a different era. I was able to read it by the pool in Hawaii which was a real treat. My husband was reading Byzantium at the same time and it was fun to share each other's languages, quite comical really.

Well, our reading group will be at Sandy Kissells this Monday evening. She lives at 540 Sunshine Dr. You take Harlow road toward Eugene and Sunshine is just 9 tenths of a mile over the Gateway Interchange. You then turn left and it is the Fourth house. If you want to follow me, I will be in the Albertson's parking lot behind the Shell station at 6:45. If you are down to bring snacks please get ahold of Sandy at 541-747-7060. Otherwise we may just have coffee (which would be fine).

Please pray for Emily (my daughter) as she is to be induced at McKenzie Willamette Hospital at 6:00 am on Monday morning.

A Therapeutic Time of Fellowship

Oh my gosh, I love book club. It really is therapy to many of us who are with small children all day or at home alone all day or work outside the home all day.
We discussed the book "The Christmas Secret" in which we all seemed to love this feel good book, especially at Christmas time, even though is was a little predictable. We do have a few more spots on the sign up list which I well bring to the next meeting. If you were unable to give me your list of books you would like to read, please comment on this blog those books so I can add them to the list. I did update the 2010 list with the books we have selected so far. The next meeting will be at Tasha's new home. If you would like a ride or to follow me, please meet at my house at 6:50. We will be discussing the book "The Fence My Father Built" and Linda Clare will be attending. Please be thinking, as you read, of some good questions to ask her.

Read, Read, Read

On a windy, rainy, dark day like today what a better time to read. Out next book club read will be June Bug, by Chris Fabry followed by The Christmas Secret by Donna VanLiere. The book for January will be "The Fence My Father Built, " by Clare. Bernice was able to get the books for $12 a piece. If you need or want one please let me know right away. We had a wonderful time discussing "The Secret Life of Bees" at Summer's. I hope everyone is well as I know that there is a lot of sickness going around. "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd

Dear Ladies, I hope this blog all finds you healthy (and not down with the swine flu) this fine Autumn day. I read this book several months ago but thought it was a very interesting story. I am looking forward to sharing your questions and thoughts about it. Did anyone see the movie? I saw it and thought it was an accurate portrayal of the book.

We will be meeting at Summer Highfill's house this next Monday, the 9th of November at 7:00 pm. She will be making a delicious dessert for us as well. Thanks Summer.

We do have a new little one whose library we need to help start. Please bring a book for Scotlyn Rose Curtis, Heather's baby girl.

Hopefully you like the new layout of the blog. I finally was able to list all of the books we have read. It is quite an accomplishment. It is hard to believe that we started over 3 years ago.
