As I'm sitting in my family room with the fire burning and watching my grandson Caiden play and I am realizing how grateful I should be. I never go without food, my grandchildren have toys to play with even at Nana's house, and I cannot tell you when the last time I had to run for cover because a rocket or bomb was falling on my head. I have a husband that truly loves me and a God that loves me even more. Our country seems to be in turmoil but it is still a safe place live and raise a family. I do hope that you were able to get through our book for this month. I am glad I read it as I have a new perspective of women in the middle east countries. Come for a lively discussion.
I have a dear friend from Iraq named Fariel (sp?) and God willing, she is going to come share with us, during book club, what the country of Iraq (the closest place I could get to Afghanistan) is like. . She married a serviceman from the US and came to the states afraid for her life there as a Christian. Pray that she gets over the flu by Monday, because she is excited to talk with us.
